I am reading the One Year Bible with my church family this year - what a powerful experience to be in the Word tracking along together!
A few weeks ago we were reading through Exodus about God speaking to Moses through the burning bush - requesting him to go before Pharaoh to lead His people out of Egypt. If you are familiar with the story, you know that Moses protested several times. Even asking “Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?” (Exodus 3:11)
It makes me think, wow, Moses is telling God Almighty “No!” How could he say “no” to God Almighty? Just the thought makes me really uncomfortable! I mean, who does that? I’ll tell you who - we do. Like Moses, we have self-doubt - doubts about what we are capable of. Moses doubted his ability to do as God was asking and he doubted everything from who he was as a person to his ability to articulate well. Moses was relying on what he knew he alone was capable of and was not resting in the assurance that God would work through him to accomplish His Will for His people.
In Matthew 16:23 Jesus rebukes Peter and says “...you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns."
We must set our eyes on God, and keep them fixed on Him when we are accomplishing His call on our lives.
Moses was looking at God’s request through all of his human-ness - and not seeing the Heavenly purposes. God, admittedly, was calling Moses to do something HUGE! Something God sized! However, God never expected Moses to accomplish the task on his own. Moses was being asked by the One who created him, and no loving parent ever asks their child to do something they know they will definitely fail at! God loves us and wants to work in our lives, but He doesn’t expect us to do things alone. He wants a relationship with us, to walk with us always. God wants to show off and do big things through us! Don’t deny Him of that! Don’t be afraid to be awesome!

Absolutely agree!
I am so hooked on Him and enjoying every minute of knowing Him more. It's a HUGE weight off my shoulders living and letting go knowing He is in control.
Ahhhh.
Love to you for this post!
